Messgewand--the name under which designers Romain Coppin and Alexis Bondoux launch their collaborative endeavours--has just debuted a 10-piece capsule of surreal furniture. The concept of the collection seeks to present "highly polished products" with an environmentally friendly twist.
With this, Messgewand experimented an alternative approach to craft, one that employs various randomized and found objects as materials for a functioning collection of home goods. The result is a surreal furniture collection that does not only seek to raise awareness but one that challenges traditional form, sparking curiosity for the audience. The materials that Messgewand used for this project included scraps from an atelier's workshop, including wood, foam, plastic, metal, and more. These were combined with discarded objects and furniture from a flea market and a second-hand store.
