Quiet Supersonic Planes

Lockheed Martin's Supersonic Green Machine

This supersonic green machine is a concept from a design team led by the Lockheed Martin Corporation. The future aircraft design concept is for supersonic flight over land that doesn’t create the loud sonic booms that people have found so objectionable from other aircraft like the commercial Concorde.

The idea for the inverted-V engine aircraft was presented to NASA in April 2010. With some luck, and funding, the supersonic green machine concept may become reality by 2035.
Trend Themes
1. Quiet Supersonic Flight - Opportunity for aerospace companies to develop more environmentally friendly supersonic planes that are quieter than previous models.
2. Inverted-v Engine Design - Inverted-V engine design presents a new opportunity to develop supersonic planes that are quieter and more efficient.
3. Green Aviation - The development of eco-friendly aviation technology is a growing trend, and quiet supersonic planes could be the next step in this direction.
Industry Implications
1. Aerospace - Aerospace companies have the opportunity to develop and manufacture the next generation of supersonic planes that are environmentally friendly and quiet.
2. Aviation - Aviation companies, particularly those focused on luxury and business travel, could benefit from offering quieter, more efficient supersonic flights to customers.
3. Environmental Technology - The development of quiet supersonic planes presents an opportunity to create new environmental technologies and materials that could be used in aerospace and beyond.
