Nike has unveiled new superhero-inspired high sneakers in its Air Jordan 1 sneaker model inspired by the upcoming movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The movie is the sequel to the popular Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which was released in 2018 and won Best Animated Feature at the 91st Academy Awards. The new sequel will be released in theatres on June 2.
The high-top sneakers arrive in a red, black, and white color scheme that is supposed to resemble the protagonist of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales' signature Spider-Man suit. The sneakers contain different types of red shades in their overlays, with the collars having a translucent red with a webbing design similar to Spider-Man's suit and the rest in a deeper red. With white leather uppers and perforated toe boxes, the sneakers contain a black lacing system with the "Nike Air" logo branding on the tongues. The heel counter has a vintage and dark--patterned red suede material as well as near the toe cap. The sneakers will be available for $200 on May 20.
