Canon's 'EOS R8' Camera Can Accurately Detect Faces & Movement

Canon has gone ahead and released its most lightweight full-frame EOS-range camera so far in the form of the 'EOS R8,' a high-tech 4K camera that offers a range of highly desirable features such as subject-tracking, face detection and full electronic shutter mode.

This particular 4K camera comes equipped with a full-frame CMOS sensor and boasts Dual Pixel CMOS AF II technology, which allows it to focus in on the subject of interest in a matter of milliseconds. The camera's subject-tracking feature works in conjunction with face detection to ensure that key subjects are well-depicted at all times.

Canon's 'EOS R8' is capable of recording 4K footage at 60 frames per second and Full HD at 180 frames per second. It even has the ability to take into account the photographer's breathing during recording and compensate for the impact that breathing has on the photographic outcome.

Available for pre-order for $1,499, the R8 is a 4K camera that will appeal to photographers looking to leverage the latest camera tech to elevate their body of work.
