Customizable DIY String Seating

The Strung Stool by Not Tom is Put Together by the User

The designers behind the Strung Stool appear to have taken some notes from a few spidery friends. Although the frame looks like a typical stool, the seat surface is something else completely. In place of a solid material, The Strung Stool is created using a web of string, hence its name.

Conceived by Rich & Harry of Not Tom, a studio based in London, England, the Strung Stool "lies at the place where craft and DIY meet design," as described on Design Milk. Essentially, the user can build the simple flat-packed frame as they want while adding the string in what ever pattern comes to mind first. It comes in a variety of colors.

The Strung Stool is currently vying for funds on Kickstarter.
