The Stratagem Collection Utilizes Delicate Marble and Colorful Resin

Debuting at Beirut Design Week 2018, the Stratagem collection is the latest furniture set from French-Lebanese designer Carla Baz and each piece features a gorgeous blend of marble and resin. Showcased at the Joy Mardini Gallery, the 13-piece collection includes lights, tables and shelving units, all of which were manufactured in Beirut and constructed from 15 different varieties of marble. The ultimate goal of the Stratagem collection was to experiment with marble, while also highlighting its fragile and delicate attributes.

Resin is not featured in every piece in the collection and is most prominently shown in the series of low tables in the Stratagem collection. To create these mesmerizing tables, Baz carved away 2mm of the marble surface before filling the channel with colorful resin. The natural tone of the marble is shown beautifully through the colorful resin and each tone was chosen to reflect natural hues.
