The Strandhouse is designed by Monika Haefelfinger and her partner Scott Utterstrom under the Los Angeles-based design studio XTEN. The home rests right by the beach and captures everything that represents minimalism to truly celebrate the natural beauty of its location.
It is on Hermosa Beach and surrounded by crisp white sand by the central pier of the beach. The home is defined by large openings and clean geometric shapes -- the interior is decorated with subtlety to contribute to the minimal theme. It overlooks views of the ocean and captivating vistas. Haefelfinger notes that "As the white interiors showcase the client’s art collection, the west-facing glass façade acts as a blank canvas, reflecting various shades of color throughout the day."
