In fashion, ready-to-wear never really means what it should, and the designs featured at the Spring 2010 China Fashion Week shows in Beijing were everything but.
Rather than crafting toned-down styles fit for a recession, designers for Spring 2010 China Fashion Week took the term ‘ready-to-wear’, chewed it up, spit it out, and then crafted a whole new aesthetic to take its place. The new aesthetic: body suits with clocks, green serpentine headpieces and nails, plaid jumpsuits with kitty hats and paws, and gigantic rubix cube-like balls as masks. In other words, outrageous was the underlying theme.
