These sports retail stores in Beijing, China and Osaka, Japan were designed by 'Plajer & Franz Studio' for PUMA's black label.
The stores are clearly inspired by the youthful nature of the PUMA brand as well as its focus on sports. Although large, the stores were not filled to the brim by the designers with PUMA products. Instead, clothing and accessories were strategically placed throughout the stores while mirrors, steel shelving and high ceilings made up the rest of the space. Particularly interesting are the shoe displays the sports retail stores offer, which feature large sketches of shoes and in one, an enormous photo reel display.
The design of these stores perfectly exemplifies the sporty and playful brand identity that PUMA associates itself with.
