Amazon will be launching a new live-action Spider-Man Noir series and Variety states that the upcoming series will be focused on "an older, grizzled superhero in 1930s New York City" and additionally, a character that is not Peter Parker. The new and highly anticipated series will highlight an alternate version of the hero, which was first seen in 2009 in a Marvel comic series dubbed the same name.
The comic iteration takes place in 1933, where the hero resides in the Depression-era of the underworld. Notably, this is not the second time that the public is being familiarized with the dark hero, having made an appearance in 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animated movie, voiced by Nicolas Cage.
