Zenith, the Swiss luxury timepiece manufacturer, has unveiled a new line of space-themed timepieces. The 'DEFY Zero-G' and the 'DEFY 21 Double Tourbillon' are ultra-exclusive with only ten units available for each model. The DEFY Zero-G features an innovative 'Gravity Control' mechanism that allows the regulating organ, the part of the watch that ensures the time displayed is consistent, to rotate with the wearer.
The DEFY 21 Double Tourbillon features the fastest tourbillon currently seen on a luxury watch. Both watches feature clear cases that allow for the mechanisms to be viewed from all angles. The Zero-G design is inspired by outer space with inspiration from cosmic bodies such as meteorites and mars. The Double Tourbillon features a futuristic aesthetic modeled in sapphire made to look like a starry sky.
On top of owning one of the most exclusive timepieces in the world, the 20 owners will be given an opportunity to experience true gravity-defying weightlessness through a partnership with Novespace. Novespace is a subsidiary of the French National Space Center, and this experience will involve the twenty passengers being flown up into the sky then dropped in a freefall to simulate the weightlessness of space.
