Record-Smashing Snow Trucks

The South Pole Expedition Vehicle Will Reach the Pole in Record Time

Designer Ian Nisbett is attempting to smash the Guinness World Record for the fastest overland trip to the South Pole with his South Pole Expedition Vehicle. The South Pole Expedition Vehicle is a highly modified pickup truck designed to provide a safe and comfortable ride to the South Pole.

The current record for an overland trip to the South Pole stands at 2 days, 21 hours and 21 minutes. The South Pole Expedition Vehicle hopes to better that time with its 4L 6cyl engine with 320 BHP. The truck has a slew of modifications on it, including bigger tires, tougher suspension and a crush-proof cabin. Perhaps the most interesting feature of this truck is that it runs off bio-fuel. This ensures that the team's trip south will be as green as possible. The British television program Top Gear already proved that driving to the North Pole was possible, so I am excited to see how Nisbett does going south.
