The latest and greatest solar power invention is this wheelchair from Taiwan, allowing even the disabled to go green. The wheel chair, invented by a Southern Taiwan University of Technology research team, gets is energy via solar paneling on the roof.
"A conventional fully-powered electric wheelchair can go approximately 7km on a charge, but in contrast, a solar powered wheelchair can go 10km to 12km," the Taipei Times detailed.
"The product won a prize in a university invention contest earlier this year. The design team has applied for a patent on the invention."
Unlike many solar powered inventions, this one is actually cheaper than most of its manual and electric counterparts. Perhaps the greatest feature of this gadget is the possibility to charge anyway, even in a park or on a beach.
