Foot-Controlled Keyboards

The SoftStep KeyWorx Keyboard Lets You Compute Hands-Free

If you fear that one day you may get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or you already have it, you need to look at the SoftStep KeyWorx keyboard. The SoftStep KeyWorx keyboard is a keyboard controlled by your feet and designed to be used by those with loss of upper body movement, those with RSIs and gamers.

That's right, apparently a keyboard you control with your feet works pretty darn well with computer games. The keyboard was developed by Keith McMillen Instruments, initially for use in music studios. The original keyboard was upgraded using KeyWorx software, making it friendlier to those outside of the music industry.

The SoftStep KeyWorx keyboard has ten touch buttons, a navigation pad and can be programmed with up to 100 macros. The keyboard is made out of elastomeric and graphite composites and is back-lit as a bonus. If you are interested in blazing a new trail for foot RSIs it is going to cost you, as this keyboard sells for a pricey $289.
