SnowBYTE is a robotic snow shovel contraption that also doubles as a lawn mower. It was developed by professor Emin Faruk Kececi at the Istanbul Technical University in Turkey.
The professor and his team developed the remote-controlled robotic snow shovel which, unlike many other household robots, has a semi-autonomous design that requires users to control its movements. However, it still does the physical job of clearing snow from your driveway and sidewalk while you stand in your garage and operate it.
The SnowBYTE has a small all-wheel drive vessel and a gasoline engine that powers the snow-blowing system, which includes front blades and a snow-throwing chute. An integrated camera systen gives operators a view of what they're blowing away.
The SnowBYTE's developers are currently running a Kickstarter campaign to attempt to raise funds for production of the contraption.
