Smart Tooth Sensors

National Taiwan University Research Presents a Sensor to Monitor Oral Activity

Researchers at the National Taiwan University have developed a sensor that indicates activity inside your mouth, which includes eating, drinking, talking, smoking, breathing, coughing and more. The small sensors are placed alongside your teeth which can then measure your daily oral activity (imagine being notified when you've eaten too much!).

The wires then relay this information to a device, which you can use to help track your daily activity. While still a prototype, the device is soon to be paired with Bluetooth, pairing directly with smart gadgets and personal handheld devices.

Tests and findings have indicated the sensors' accuracy is nearly 94%, both in distinguishing between your oral activities and tracking your habits. Not bad for a wearable, health-promoting gadget!
