Samsung has a trick up its sleeve for their line of 2013 High Definition TVs: the social media-enabled Smart Hub features.
Internet-connected smart TVs are nothing new, but the new interface that Samsung is pioneering with the Smart Hub TVs certainly are. Aside from being able to display normal TV as well as connectivity to services like Hulu and Netflix, Smart Hub also allows users to instantly stream their own video files across other devices like computers and tablets as well being able to connect to social media websites like Facebook and Twitter. This makes it easy to connect with people all over the world to discuss favorite TV shows and movies. Samsung was also kind enough to toss a bone to existing Samsung TV owners that want the new Smart Hub features without having to buy a whole new TV. At a star-studded event which included Kate Upton and Eli Manning in New York City to promote the new line, Samsung announced that existing models can be updated with the purchase of a $299 box called the 'Evolution Kit.'
