India is seeking to continue its rapid pace of urbanization with the help of its new Smart Cities Mission – a government-proposed and funded initiative that seeks to aid in the development of 100 smart cities across the country.
The initiative's mission is to "aim at developing the entire urban ecosystem, which is represented by the four pillars of comprehensive development – institutional, physical, social and economic infrastructure."
