The Skywater is a public water filtration fountain that was designed by Ji-youn Kim in South Korea. The system works through the collection and storage of rain water.
The Skywater system takes the rain water and stores it in underground tanks. When the Skywater is being used, the tanks release the water up through multiple filters until it comes out of the hanging spout as fresh drinking water.
The Skywater is a great design for areas that don’t have convenient drinking water. Harnessing the rain seems quite obvious, but it looks like it’s finally been tinkered with enough to actually work. I’m down!
