Tokujin Yoshioka recreates the aesthetic of water in his simple seat dubbed the 'Water Block' that uses glass to replicate the look of ripples. The bench is slender and ultra thin with a minimalistic aesthetic that can add an element of nature to any decorative space.
Yoshioka's designs creatively use solid materials to replicate the effect of liquid in an illusionary way. The glass that forms the top of the bench features dozens of repeated ripples that look the way a body of water does when it is touched by motion. The glass is complemented with brass so that the bench shines and glistens in the same way water does when it is touched by the sun. The seat is complete with two wooden legs to keep the furniture piece simplistic and natural.Photo Credits: designboom, tokujin
