The Simoon Collection by Patricia Urquiola was created for Glas Italia. Made with chopped Murano glass, the collection consists of two coffee tables. Each table is designed with minimalism principles to make the glass tabletops stand out as focal points.
Only essential lines were used in the two designs to highlight the material. The tables were made by UV gluing 12 mm thick ground polished extra-light glass slabs. Then, the glass surface is covered in a grit made from Murano glass. Once the grit is applied, the tables feature a textured finish. To add further artistic value to the tables, the finished glass sheets rest on miniature architectural feats, captivating the eye in amethyst or dark topaz finishes.
