Amazon's sign language logo is definitely one for the books. In an attempt to recognize the diversity in the company, as well as the opportunities that stem from this, the e-commerce site began this exciting and empowering project.
The initative is headed by Brendan Gramer who bears the title of a senior UX designer for the company's Consumer Payment's team. He, himself, is deaf and has been a strong presence in pushing Amazon's in-house practices for the better. For example, under Gramer's direction the AmazonPwD was launched. This is an "employee-led group focused on promoting diversity and inclusivity."
The sign language logo incorporates six hands, a dotted Z and the signature smiling arrow. The hope is that it will be able to inspire tolerance, understanding and a "culturally positive environment" for the e-commerce giant.
