This NIVEA shower gel refill station has been developed by Beiersdorf as a prototype solution for the retail environment that would enable shoppers to curb their consumption of plastic packaging. The system works by providing shoppers with a bottle of shower gel that can be refilled up to three times before being returned and recycled. Users are intuitively guided through the entire process to make it as easy as possible to refill the container and could drastically reduce the instance of shoppers needing to purchase single-use product alternatives.
The NIVEA shower gel refill station has been designed by Marta Suslow, Caroline Zia, Koushik Sreedhar, Bernhard Felten and Cecile Ratschow of Beiersdorf, and was achieved in-house by the brand thanks to 3D printing technology.
