The Ecotranzit is a concept shipping robot designed by Charles Bombardier and Martin Rico that hopes to eliminate the continual need for large-scale trucks and delivery vehicles that are currently on the road. The robots are mini wagon-style vehicles that are self-driving and are engineered to deliver packages without the need of a human to operate the machine. The self-driving design could help eliminate the need for couriers and delivery workers, as packages can be picked up and delivered entirely with Ecotranzit.
The Ecotranzit is a small cart that operates on four weeks with a sliding back chamber. The vehicle can fit packages in its cargo space while the back chamber makes it easy for the cart to slide it onto doorsteps. The car is able to drive on streets, bike paths and more with pre-set algorithms to steer it to its destinations.
