Affordable Shipping Container Housing

TRS Studio Attempts to Assist the Housing Crisis in Peru

Local architectural firm TRS Studio offers shipping container housing as a low-cost accommodation in Peru.

This is a trial run to provide "communities that struggle with housing issues and lack resources to devote to buying construction materials" with sustainable living spaces. Through the concept, TRS Studio fuses two shipping containers that are topped with a polycarbonate roof. The materials that are used in the construction of these dwellings are low-cost, durable and abundant.

In terms of the floor plan, the ground level of the shipping container housing boasts living necessities such as a kitchenette, a toilet, as well as a bedroom. In addition, TRS Studio some space available for residents to grow a small garden which will be able to thrive as plenty of natural light can enter through the polycarbonate ceiling.
