Melbourne-based Tandem Design Studio created these shelving displays for a retail store called Hugg. The interior of this retail shop is filled with an open-concept style that is only interrupted by aggressive pillars and massive shelving units.
The pillars are visibly seen horizontally stretching across the ceiling area, but they are also seen vertically stretching from the roof to the floor and creating "X" shapes. These forms stand in rows and act as bright yellow shelving displays. Between the X-shaped pillars there are rows of shelves that are created using light wooden boxes.
The shelves resemble cardboard boxes that have been tilted so the open portion easily faces consumers. This unique shop sells health products and footwear. The idea was to create a formal display area that would house both of these items in a reasonable way.
