Shary Boyle is a Canadian artist based in Toronto who specializes in dramatic paintings that are as beautiful as they are twisted.
Her paintings and illustrations have been exhibited all over the world, from Lethbridge, Alberta to the United Kingdom, Lucerne and Berlin. It is clear that her decadent and depraved paintings have struck a cord with the movers and shakers of the art world.
This collection includes some of my favorite paintings and drawings from the Shary Boyle collection. Much of her work carries the strong thread of surrealism, as well as storytelling. Some highlights from her drawings include a witchlike woman shoveling through a cloud or what appears to be Siamese twins decked out in plaid.
Next up for Shary Boyle is a major commission for the Weisman Art Museum in Minneapolis, Minnesota, set for completion in early 2012.
