Plant Part Typography

Seth Mach Created a Series of Type Inspired by Different Parts of Plants

US-based graphic designer Seth Mach made a beautiful series of letters that incorporate botanical features. The project, aptly titled ‘Botanica Alphabet,’ features the letters of the alphabet in intricate forms. Each letter boasts different parts of plants, from their stems to their leaves.

Mach makes the letters by first creating hand-drawn patterns and then digitizing them to form letters. Their colorway is all-white, but they are placed against a tan canvas. Their whimsical and floral patterns also make the letters resemble festive wreaths. Mach should seriously consider making them in physical form, because they would be the perfect decor for a family's front door.

His beautiful project will be featured in the Type Directors Club annual Typography 34 and will also be shown at the 59th Awards Exhibition in New York.
