He has taken it upon himself to recreate famous landmarks through a vein of origami art. At first Sergei Tarasov focused on creating a model of Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Russia. Later, he tackled the Svyato-Spassky Cathedral in Munusinsk.
Hailing from the village of Tigritskoye in southern Russia, Sergei Tarasov takes between 6 months and a year to create each of his masterpieces. Considering that the Saint Basil’s Cathedral stands at one and a half meters high while incorporating 60,000 separate units of carefully assembled origami pieces, that should come as no surprise.
