Self-Wearing Shoes

These Shoes Snap Around Your Foot Like a Venus Flytrap

A designer in Moscow is creating self-wearing shoes -- shoes that snap and adhere to the wearer's feet without the need for manual adjustment.

Just when the world thought Nike's HyperAdapt self-lacing shoes were at the peak of innovation, Ilyas Darakchiev drafted his conceptual design, which would render shoe horns completely unnecessary. The design took inspiration from the bio-mechanics of a Venus flytrap, who can snap its jaw down in response to chemical reactions. The shoe is based around a similar principal -- when the wearer steps in, the shoe will wrap itself around that person's ankle. The shoes would require no wires, power supplies or charging necessary.

The self-wearing shoes represent a growing market for the fusion between technology and fashion.
