The Self-Sufficient House by Iana Kozak is a house that literally lives and dies with its occupants. The Self-Sufficient House would be embedded with living cells to help the house become self-regulating.
The house's cells would be placed all throughout the house and would help regulate everything from the heating to electricity. The most interesting aspect of the cells is their ability to create new rooms in the house. When a child is born, the Self-Sufficient House automatically creates a new room that grows with the child, with the room eventually contracting and disappearing when a person dies.
The entire house would, of course, be eco-friendly, utilizing solar power and recycled water. As interesting as Kozak's design is, it seems a little too advanced for the current state of technology. I'd look for this one sometime around 2200.
