Self Cooking Rice

Perfect Emergency Ration

Japanese developers have now found a way to create hot rice with cold water. This is a crucial break through in the provision of emergency rations. Called "Hotto Raisu' - pouring cold water over the rice leads to steam rising from the box.

Implications - To preserve the rice in a soft form, developers put it through 4,000 times the normal atmospheric pressure. To prepare the packaged food, water simply needs to be poured on an exothermic agent which then warms the rice. In only 15 minutes, the rice is ready to eat. What makes this such a useful product for disaster relief is that it can be easily prepared, even if the electricity goes down.
Trend Themes
