The Luminothérapie is an art installation featured in Montreal specifically for the month of December and January to bring the nostalgic enjoyment of visiting a playground to the cold winter season with a light up seesaw design. The project was put forth in a collaborative effort between EGP Group, CS Design and Lateral Office to offer 30 different interactive seesaws in downtown Montreal for civilians to play on.
Seesaws are a nostalgic design item that reminds consumers new and old of carefree living and enjoyment. The Luminothérapie captures this nostalgia perfectly with 30 LED seesaw designs that turn on as soon as someone sits on one end. The seesaws are made from white glowing tubes that also play music as pairs sit on the edges and enjoy the piece during the cold nights.
