A network of secret tunnels built in 1940 as deep air-raid shelters 100 feet under central London has gone on sale.
The Kingsway Tunnels were designed to accommodate 8,000 people. They have also been used as a public records library and even a telephone exchange. British Telecom hope that the 77,000 square feet of space could attract offers of about £5m.
This has to be the coolest property on sale at the moment with access through unmarked doors on the street. Apparently it needs a purchaser with imagination. If I had $5 million, I would be right there.
