Futuristic Second Earth Concepts
Earth 2 is a Metaverse Between Virtual and Physical Reality
Second Earth is an interesting concept that has been entertained by many philosophical arguments and countless sci-fi explorations, both in film and literature. IoT has developed to such an extent that it seems as if the digital environment itself is a second Earth. This avenue is explored further through concepts such as Earth 2—"a metaverse, between virtual and physical reality in which real-world geolocations on a sectioned map correspond to user-generated digital virtual environments" that is built on top of MapBox technology. The project aims to facilitate a 1:1 scale version of our planet and is currently in Phase 1 of its development. In Earth 2 you can own, buy, sell, and (in the near future) customize land. The first stage of building a second Earth entails determining ownership of digital assets and property.
