Yue Zhou designs the new Seat Urchin, which is a seating solution that is exactly as it is described. The chair is made to look like a sea creature, which is also a delicacy in Japan. It is a rocking chair that appears to be anything but that.
It sits on top of a base with multiple prongs and shifts the seater around the center of gravity by rocking back and forth or side to side. It also features yellow cushions on the inside for a bright pop of color and nods to the inside of the urchin. The seat has a molded look as Yue Zhou explains that "This unique piece of furniture is designed to evoke the fluid motion of ocean waves and the organic form of sea creatures."
