Thanks to Tomas Brødreskift, individuals are now offered a glimpse at seaplanes of the future with the SeaSTOL VLJ. The SeaSTOL VLJ, or Sea Short Take Off and Landing Very Light Jet, is a conceptual seaplane designed with the machinery of a jet.
The SeaSTOL VLJ is designed to travel at the altitude and distance of a light jet aircraft without sacrificing a seaplane's unique ability to land on water. The craft has a small pod for a cabin that can seat five to eight people and rests on two skiffs. The wheels for a ground landing pop out of the skiff and stay safely tucked inside during water landings.
Brødreskift's conceptual renderings indicate that the SeaSTOL VLJ could open up a whole new world of travel and travel time to islands without airports could be drastically cut. Travel to and from coastal cities would also be revolutionized.
Currently the SeaSTOL VLJ is just a concept, but Brødreskift is hopeful that he can one day create a prototype of this super-powered seaplane.
