Tattooed Marble Sculptures

Fabio Viale Uses the Human Form as his Canvas

Sculptor Fabio Viale does incredible work in two arenas -- his realistic marble sculptures of the human form, and the tattoos he covers these marble sculptures with.

At first glance one could think that these were photographs of actual tattooed limbs, torsos and backs. The blending of two seemingly different art forms works perfectly. For a look at more great work by sculptor Fabio Viale, check out the gallery and the links.

Implications - My favorite of these sculpture tattoo hybrids has got to be the fist adorned with traditional Americana artwork. The sculpture of the fist itself is already a delicate work of art, and to see Fabio Viale go the extra mile and put an intricate tattoo onto it is simply phenomenal.
