Educational Scientific Apps

'The Earth' by Tinybob is a Fun and Interactive App for Kids

Tinybob is a Brooklyn startup that specializes in education scientific apps. Its latest installment called 'The Earth' is a fun and interactive tool for kids that teaches them exactly what happens beneath our feet.

Much of the teaching is done through play, and the app features interesting games that teach them about Geology in a mature and sophisticated manner. Instead of relying on kid-friendly characters and charismatic voice overs, the app's designers made the earth a character in and of itself. The app has stunning illustrations that are activated through touch. Instead of a repetitive sand dune animation, the sand dune's motion changes depending on how a user touches it.

The goal for the app is to prompt kids to be curious about the earth and ask questions. Unlike other kid-friendly scientific apps, 'The Earth' works only through exploration and discovery, not dictation.
