The Samsung Knox Guard service has been announced by the brand as a new enterprise security solution to help with risk mitigation for IT departments. The service will allow administrators to immediately place a temporary lock on any devices that might be lost or stolen to help keep sensitive information out of the wrong hands. The device would then be unusable by the thief or anyone who might purchase it with data not accessible either locally or remotely.
The Samsung Knox Guard service doesn't destroy the data on a device when activated to make the process of reactivating it upon retrieval easier. The IT administrator can remotely unlock the device via the service or using a PIN code to accommodate different scenarios.
