Swiss portrait and fashion photographer Salvatore Vitale is a shutterbug who specializes in taking natural, minimalist shots in studio settings. His work eschews the Photoshopped and airbrushed style that typically graces the pages of major high-fashion magazines, and aims for something more organic.
For Salvatore Vitale's latest shoot, "What do you see?" He takes his love of natural posing to a whole 'nother level by blindfolding his model, Alessia Passardi, in order to "Capture the sense of loss of my model posing without watching around her looking at her body and expressivity."
The results are astounding. Alessia Passardi is mysterious, sexual, and captivating. Her poses are unusual, odd, but alluring. Salvatore Vitale scores points for bringing this avant-garde concept to fruition, but the shoot is made by Passardi's slender body and angular poses. My favorite shot in the Salvatore Vitale-Alessia Passardi editorial shows the stunning model with her arms outstretched and clasped behind her head. Her eyes (and blindfold) appear to be staring directly at the camera. She is clad in only a strapless bra and tight jeans. The shot exudes rawness. It is ethereal and entirely original. It perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the shoot.
The rest of the snaps aren't anything to be taken lightly, either. Click through the gallery to see Salvatore Vitale's magic at work.
