The Leica S3 Medium Format Camera Reinvents What a DSLR Can Do

Mirrorless cameras undoubtedly made a huge impact in 2018, however, Leica instead chose to focus on improving traditional mirror, prism, and reflex set-ups and is now releasing its new flagship S3 medium format camera. Serving as a direct successor to the Leica S Type 007, the new S3 medium format camera comes equipped with Leica's massive 64-megapixel ProFormat sensor. This CMOS sensor features improved dynamic range, superior high ISO performance, a new color array filter, and lower power consumption.

All of these performance-enhancing components are held in a body that feels identical to its predecessor but is redesigned to be extremely ergonomic. The frame of the S3 medium format camera is crafted from a magnesium alloy and is surrounded by a matching black natural rubber grip.
