While Zwift first launched with a line of cycling wearables, its new RunPod gives runners an affordable option to get into virtual training platforms. Syncing wirelessly to the running mode on the Zwift app, this wearable attaches to the laces of a pair of running shoes and then tracks and broadcasts speed and distance data to the virtual realm. Much like Zwift's cycling wearables, the RunPod allows runners to compete against people from around the world using the device and app.
In terms of design, the RunPod weighs just 13g and is powered by a standard CR2032 battery. The lightweight nature ensures runners aren't thrown off by the device and the choice of battery provides a decent amount of run-time before the batteries need to be swapped out.
