Multidisciplinary Italian creative practice Mathery Studio designed these playful and complicated Rube Goldberg-inspired contraptions for putting on socks in the morning.
Mathery Studio is made up of Erika Zorzi and Matteo Sangalli, who are known for their playful and colorful approach to illustration, art and design. In collaboration with Odd Pears, an Australian-based sock company, the studio created a series of different inventions resembling the drawings of Rube Golberg that use a number of different objects to perform the simple task of putting on a pair of socks.
The five different design concepts utilize a number of different objects to hoist up a pair of socks, including helium balloons, mechanic pulleys, kitchen timers and orange squeezers. The end result is an imaginative approach to what would normally be a mundane task.
