Serve up a farmhouse inspired meal with the round wood cheese board from home design retailer CB2. The kitchen accessory was created in collaboration with Renegade Craft Fair, an indie craft marketplace that showcases emerging design talents.
This round wood cheese board is the work of BROOKLYNrehab designer Alyssa Zygmunt who moved to Brooklyn 11 years ago when "the independent spirit was strong and people were finding ways to survive and do their own thing." The designer is a collector of vintage souvenirs and aims to create unique momentos when crafting her own designs.
Zygmunt referenced a folk tale of animals stacking atop one another when creating this design. In the story, the animals do this in order to prove their usefulness and in this case are representative of three species of cheese producers. Three hand-carved silhouettes of a cow, goat and sheep stand in a tall pyramid atop a solid piece of maple that is left unfinished to expose its rich wood grain.
