A couple of weeks ago, I reported on the Rolls-Royce 102EX Phantom -- a car that, at the time, was known only by a few sample shots and not much else. Well the Geneva Motor Show is here, and as promised, the Rolls-Royce 102EX Phantom made its debut.
The Rolls-Royce 102EX Phantom is all-electric-powered by two electric engines, each putting out 145 kilowatts. The eco-friendly Phantom is apparently no slouch on the track either, going from 0 - 60 in under eight seconds. That may not sound too impressive until you realize that the Rolls-Royce 102EX Phantom weighs a massive 6,000 pounds!
The most interesting part about the Rolls-Royce 102EX Phantom is that it charges via electrical induction, forgoing the traditional plug-in design seen in almost all electric cars today. As of this writing, the Rolls-Royce 102EX Phantom is solely meant as a test car to see whether or not Rolls-Royce would like to pursue any eco-friendly endeavors in the future. Here's hoping they do. This car is perhaps the most luxurious electric car ever created.
