Chair-Converting Kits

The Rocker by OOOMS Turns Static Seats into Motion-Filled Furniture

For those who have always wanted a rocking chair but could never figure out how to fit it into the house, either due to size or aesthetic, the Rocker by OOOMS, a Dutch studio run by Guido Ooms and Karin van Lieshout, provides a convenient solution. It is a special kit that turns existing static seats into rocking chairs.

Essentially, the Rocker by OOOMS comes with a curved wooden attachment that secures to the bottom of the chair's four legs. Once attached, a rocking chair is suddenly born. As simple as that, it is made out of plywood and steel. A universal contraption, the Rocker by OOOMS can be more relaxed or active depending on the situation.

The Rocker by OOOMS was created for a Designboom contest.
