Real Robotic Stage Actors

This Theatre Troupe in Japan Performs Using Real Robot and Human Actors

The Japanese Robot Theater Project has a not-so-secret weapon to sell tickets to their robot and human shows. They're using real robot actors in their productions of Sayonara and I, Worker.

The shows feature real actors doing their lines around automated robot actors that apparently fill their roles convincingly. The robot and human collaborations apparently result in a nearly flawless presentation, especially since these robots are designed to never miss their acting queues. To increase the diversity in their performances, the robots employ artificial voices, while the androids on stage use prerecorded human voices to help with emotional impact of the show. Some of the prerecorded voices were done by the very same actors that appear on stage.

It's nice to know that when the robot uprising happens and the androids take over the earth, that there will some culture for our robot overlords to look forward to.
