Imaginations were running wild when the Curiosity Rover landed on Mars; artists Richard Selesnick and Nicholas Kahn ran with this idea and created a fabulous series called 'Mars: Adrift on the Hourglass Sea.' The series exhibit was commissioned by NASA and combines photos captured from the Curiosity Rover, with surreal objects and people mixed in.
It's meant to show a once inhabited planet that is now empty and being explored by two futuristic females. It shows martian buildings and spaceships floating in the air, with astronauts exploring them. They're totally fantasy driven and really quite beautiful.
It's really too bad that these photo's weren't real, it would have made the event just so much more spectacular. This is definitely a series worth checking out.
