Burger King Announced a Packaging Partnership with 'Loop'

Burger King UK announced a new partnership with 'Loop' in order to test the viability of reusable fast-food packaging. Loop is a mobile application connected to a platform-based solution for reusable packages. The application allows users to scan a Loop package label and return it to an official bin for reuse. As part of this partnership, Burger King UK will place Loop bins at each of its restaurants.

Burger King UK is committed to reducing its single-use plastics significantly by 2025. This new collaborative venture is a largely effective way to accomplish this goal if it is successful. It is important to note that the reusable packages will be initially introduced as an option rather than a standard. Restaurant attendees will have the option to order reusable packages for a deposit of $1.26 USD, which is refunded when the package is placed into a Loop bin.
